Beating Sleeplessness with Homeopathy and get permanent relief for insomnia treatment

International Classification of Sleep Disorders defines insomnia as ‘repeated difficulty with sleep initiation, consolidation, or quality that occurs despite adequate time and opportunity for sleep and results in some form of daytime impairment.’(AASM 2005, 1)

Maximum people with insomnia have intricacy either falling asleep or staying asleep. So they may have trouble functioning during the working hours. Such people always seek for appropriate insomnia treatment.

Homeopathy is one of the most popular alternative choices in insomnia treatment. In Homeopathy, insomnia treatment is given on the basis of the theory of individualisation and symptoms similarity.

Let us study sleep pattern first to know stages and phases during sleep.

Sleep Patterns:
Most persons need approximately 8/9 hours of sleep each day in order to feel fresh the next day.

Our sleep cycles are characterized into the following phases:

Non-REM sleep (Quite Sleep)
Each stage may last for up to 5-15 minutes.

Stage 1:
  • Eyes are closed in this stage and a person will feel as if he has not slept when aroused from this stage
  • Very often a feeling of ‘falling’ during this stage may cause your body to jerk or experience a sudden muscle contraction
Stage 2:
  • Known as stage of ‘light sleep’
  • Alternate toning and relaxation of muscles takes place and the heart rate and body temperature falls
  • You are now ready to enter deep sleep
Stage 3 & 4:
  • Known as delta sleep or ‘slow wave’ sleep
  • Awakening becomes more difficult during this phase and if woken you may feel disoriented
REM sleep (Rapid Eye Movement Sleep or Active Sleep)
Each stage may last for up to 5-15 minutes.
  • This phase occurs frequent times during the night
  • During this phase most dreams occur as a result of increased brain activity
  • All muscles except for your heart, lungs and eye muscles are almost paralyzed
  • Conditions such as depression shorten the REM phase, whereas antipsychotic drugs tend to increase this phase
